Off brew?

I know normally this is a beer focused forum but I'm just starting out and before I make the leap to my first beer batch I did an apple cider from my trees. I bottled Saturday and had about a 6oz taste while doing it.

The batch tasted fine, a bit tart maybe and sitting in around 7% alc. The next day about noon I started having food poisoning symptoms and was down and out for a couple of days.

Most of the reading I've done suggests it's unlikely that the cider was the cause but I'm a bit nervous to say the least.
