Based in Victoria, BC, BrewVIC’s goals are to help Vancouver Island home brewers make better beer and foster the island homebrewing community.  We strive to accomplish this through mentoring and information sharing at meetings, events and on a website.

BrewVIC strengthens the Vancouver Island home brewing community by:

  • sharing information at meetings, events and on a website
  • mentoring new and less-experienced brewers
  • exploring collaborative and unusual homebrewing techniques, ingredients and equipment
  • pooling purchasing power to buy equipment and ingredients at the best prices possible

We meet monthly to:

  • discuss beer styles and taste and evaluate home-brewed and commercial examples
  • share brewing information and techniques
  • meet with and learn from commercial brewers
  • plan projects and events to strengthen the Vancouver Island homebrewing community

Homebrewing workshop at Moon Brewery

There's more than one way to make a beer. We found out the difference between home brewing and commercial brewing this weekend at The Moon Under Water Brewery, Pub, Distillery & Tasting Room. Brew Vic was there showing off different methods of brewing a maibock as part of Victoria Beer Week.
